Today I rise…

I’ve watched this short film over and over since I came across it yesterday. It’s a call to women everywhere to step into their feminine power and I find it both inspiring and beautiful.

More than anything it makes me think of all of us women whose earliest years were, for whatever reason, traumatic; all of us who had to start out as little girls “with broken wings but full of hope”.

“Where are you, little girl with broken wings but full of hope?

Where are you, wise woman covered in wounds?

Today is the day I will not sit still and give in anymore.

Today I rise.

I am bruised but I will get up and walk again.

Today I rise.

I don’t care if you ignore my beauty.

Today I rise.

Through the alchemy of my darkest nights I heal and thrive.

Today I rise.”
